No need to apply water before setting the transfer down, especially on slick surfaces.
I just peeled off the protective film.
Set the colored design side on the surface.
Added a thin layer of water on the grey printed paper side.
Smoothed the design gently with my hand.
Then peeled the top paper layer off to reveal the design!

They worked so well on raw wood, sealed wood, wax, glass, metal, paper, ceramic, etc.

Tips:
-Hold that paper layer firmly, or use a piece of painter’s tape, so it does not slide around, especially on slick surfaces.
-You do not need a ton of water!
-I used a Waterbrush by Prima to apply the water exactly where I needed it.
-Practice with a small design first.
-I did not have good results layering them, as the water reactivated the design underneath. However, I created a larger design on the metal tin by bumping one design right up to the another with no overlap.
